Cut to Fit. Strong by Design.

Die-Cut Honeycomb Paperboard

Die-cut honeycomb paperboard is built for products that cannot shift in the carton. A kraft facing and hexagonal paper core are converted into trays, recessed frames, circular pockets, and matching top-and-bottom inserts. The cutout holds the item; the core takes compression; the panel stays light enough to cut freight, yet stiff enough to replace foam, EPS, and plastic dunnage. Specify thickness, cell size, and outline from a drawing or sample. Use it for glass, ceramics, electronics, furniture parts, and industrial components—recyclable protection that looks clean on the packing line and performs in transit.

Protect. Display. Build. Recycle.

Frequently Asked Questions About Die-cut Honeycomb Paperboard

How is it different from ordinary corrugated cardboard?

Corrugated board uses a fluted medium. Honeycomb board uses a cell core, so it is stiffer for its weight, resists crushing better in the thickness direction, and can be cut into thicker pads and dividers without adding much weight.

Can the shape, size, and thickness be customized?

Yes. Die-cutting sets the outline, windows, slots, and fold lines. Thickness, cell size, liner grade, and overall dimensions are usually made to order for the product and load.

How strong is it?

Strength depends on thickness, cell size, liner weight, and how the part is loaded. It is chosen for cushioning and compressive support rather than as a substitute for heavy timber or plastic crates. Thicker board and smaller cells raise crush resistance.

Is it recyclable?

Yes. It is paper-based and can go into standard paper and cardboard recycling where local rules allow, as long as it is free of heavy plastic film, foam, or contaminated adhesives.

Is it a replacement for foam or plastic trays?

Often, for light to medium protection. It is lighter to dispose of and easier to recycle than EPS foam or molded plastic, but foam can still be better for very high shock or moisture-sensitive shipments.

Does it resist moisture?

Untreated kraft honeycomb absorbs moisture and loses strength when wet. For humid routes, mills can use moisture-resistant liners or coatings; it is not fully waterproof.

How is it usually supplied?

As flat die-cut sheets, nested trays, slotted partitions, or pre-assembled grids. Parts are often stacked and stretch-wrapped for shipment, as in factory pallet photos.

What information do you need for a quote?

Outer size, thickness, die-cut drawing or sample, load and drop requirements, liner color (usually brown kraft or white), quantity, and whether the part must be recyclable or moisture-resistant.
